i've opened #3892 to provide `try_poll_ready()` methods as proposed above! i'll keep it marked as a draft for the time being, pending this discussion. :slightly_smiling_face:
marking this as a draft for now. #3922 introduces a `std::error::Error` implementation, so that `TrySendError` values can be boxed without discarding a recovered request.
