gethostbyname() does not appear to work with lookups="f"

I'm trying to trace an issue where gethostbyname only appears to work if `lookups` is not provided, or is explicitly passed as `"b"`. When it it is defined as `"f"`...

It would like this to be generalized to be able to find the dbus address from other display managers, such as `cinnamon-session`.
