Filed PR #6 with a working implementation of this. It depends on some other PRs that I've filed against lein core, so for now, just hoping to allow my co-workers...
I've seen this too.
+1 on avoiding that slippery slope :) hocon can already do a ton of things and supporting all of them makes it more difficult to port it to other languages.

Cool. The thing I've been hacking on is based on your second option - creating a separate spec->swagger json schema conversion. I've been using your schema->swagger conversion as a model....
I started on something similar. I still haven't had time to clean it up and it is currently pretty tangled up with some other libraries that aren't entirely relevant. Hoping...
