Minor: removed unneccessary error checking

Hi, This is just a minor PR. I removed the error checking here because there is no `err` value that is needed to be checked from the previous `NewCertPool` call.

Migrating from deps to go mod. As far as I know, you just need to `go mod tidy` in order to fetch the dependencies.
