Confirmed that it appears to be have been fixed with npm 10.9.1. Now takes a few seconds rather than minutes.

issue: When using a Controller, if the form has a default value for an optional field, the Controller's render method will revert to the default value when the field value is cleared

As a workaround, currently I'm using `control._getWatch(name)` to get the current value in the render method. When not passing the `defaultValues` as the second parameter, this appears to work as...
