I installed it and it worked as before on my Win 10 AMD64 laptop, was able to run some of my local dev containers and appears to be functioning correctly....

@satoru-takeuchi your understanding is correct, we have some sites using HDDs and my thinking was a journal/metadata device would help mitigate some of their performance issues
That would work for me, not tied to how I was doing it before. Is there any obvious risks/caveats to PV based OSDs?
That feature request is closed as not planned. I know this might seem like a small annoyance but when you have many (10s or 100s) of clusters that need backups...
