Just like the developer proposed in the nexusmods thread, I tried stable v1.4 and the Widescreen Fix, using a 2.500 value and without Vertical FOV enabled. It works good enough...

I confirm the same. Tested on Windows 10 21H2. Downgraded to 1.98.2 as workaround.
