Update to 2.4.2 from 2.3.13 does not work

Updating from 2.3.13 to 2.4.2 does not work. I can log in, but the "Loading license information" part of the system status page stays on loading (spinner), and the client and topics pages are empty. The console prints these errors over and over:

Do I need to do something regarding a license (create one?) to be able to update to 2.4.2?
