The update component issue is a known problem with Jinjava. https://github.com/HubSpot/jinjava/pull/1233 fixes the problem upstream, but I'm still waiting for them to make a release. But I'm also _really close_...

All is fine. The Home Assistant binding has some large structural changes that are in review right now. Once that's all in I'll fix this bug fairly quickly.

I feel quite confident in the existing (and modified) tests having sufficient coverage. It took me quite some time to get a passing test suite.
