At least my typical usecase is remote support for other people. Telling them to click "allow" in order for me to connect isn't a dealbreaker. It's also possible that xdg-desktop-portal...

Just a quick thought but prebuilt testing binaries might encourage more users to give it a spin. Pair it with a call to test hw acceleration on a few subreddits...

There's not much you can do to work around shitty vendor "powersaving" hacks. Some of them roll with a whitelist approach with a few blessed apps and kill everything else....
