With the Atom-Shell being opensourced (from github folks, see: https://github.com/atom/atom-shell), I believe that you can make this application a standalone multi-plataform with very little change.

vim-plug if you use neovim does some crazy async operations which doesn't slow vim down

I have re-implemented with vim-plug "most" of the janus I use. If anyone wants to try, it's started as a PoC, but it's serving me well for many months already....
