This would be good, but marking "nextversion" because tricky at the moment--tests aren't supposed to modify environment, except temp files.

E.g. that the results of `loadCMIP5`, `makeAnnualStat`, etc., are identical regardless of implementation chosen. I think this is important enough that I'm giving it a **bug** label.
