That's why I put an app-wide preference as a temporary workaround. It's in Preferences.

This should apply for Debian too. Are you sure this library wasn't removed on accident on your system?  
I wondered why it showed up all of the sudden and it took me a distro switch yesterday to realize that `libhandy` depends on this package.

Apparently Granite's ModeButton ignores click signals when it's already selected by design. For me it doesn't make any sense, especially when the button can be deselected.
