What should happen: Post visibility should be whatever the user has set in their mastodon settings

What happened instead: Post visibility is set to public by default both when trying to post and in settings.

How to reproduce: Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. Set post visibility setting in Mastodon
  2. Try to post something from Tootle

Build context:

  • Distro: Fedora 32
  • Version: master branch (238b4a6fee5c68168f4e2865f8c5fdabbc6b8f2b)
  • Build type: Flatpak

I think I understand where you're going with this but atleast just getting (and probably for later) setting this particular thing should probably be done for 1.0 to avoid people from posting in public when they didn't mean to.

That's why I put an app-wide preference as a temporary workaround. It's in Preferences.
