Please note we consider this a super-critical bug. There's no way we can make sure this doesn't happen again, nor catch it before wrong results are returned and acted upon....

@mp911de how would we do that? I've looked at `-Dio.netty.noPreferDirect=true` but according to https://github.com/netty/netty/issues/10189 it seems it has very little effect.
