@jwinarske, I'm not sure I understand your answer to why to keep the issue open. Are the slower PlatformViews used in flutter-maplibre-gl, or can you rephrase it somehow?

I don't think a build type or product flavour will resolve this, because gradle might still pull in the proprietary code, as mentioned here, so these proprietary parts should be...

@ntadej , is this still releant? It seems reasonable to i.e. move macos from platform/ios/platform/macos to platform/macos, and so on, but is this branch maybe too dated at this?
