Support coloring "behind" nodes

Rather than coloring the nodes themselves. See, e.g., the title figure in the phylofactor tutorial.

One of the nice benefits of this is that it'd make it easier to color nodes using very light colors (e.g. yellow, pink) that would otherwise blend in with the white background.

This isn't super urgent or anything, but it could be nice to have in.
