Maybe if there's a big interest, a Kickstarter or something could be set up to do a big batch build/order of certain parts and reduce costs.
Thanks for the super fast response. I did also try the Haversine output_metric, which was quite nice because it forces things to the sphere which gives me nice cosine properties....
