It is for me, just ran sudo rpi-update on a Raspbian 7 install which was just updated. Just renamed /opt temporarily and mkdir /opt and ran again.

That was my thought, what would be needed is mostly UI. I don’t have a strip to play with but will grab one.

I feel like it might make sense to do sliders for each channel, and then maybe some preset color temps ?

I've thought about it, and it seems like it would be possible... The one trick is authentication SSO, since telnet is pretty much free-form and you have to "expect" user...
