This would be very helpful. I'm also defining parameters which differ only with required attribute (true |false).

@ryanjbaxter I can help with that I think we can benefit from that also, but we should agree whether what I mean is sufficient. Currently application vs configmap is resolved...

[Here](https://github.com/bilak-poc/spring-boot-tomcat-issue) is my example application. If you change tomcat version to [9.0.41](https://github.com/bilak-poc/spring-boot-tomcat-issue/blob/main/pom.xml#L21) then it works without any issue.
