The problem is [here](https://github.com/moquette-io/moquette/blob/1ba9eb3613bc79d28c5d45d9c0984033d36d83af/broker/src/main/java/io/moquette/broker/subscriptions/Topic.java#L59). The "join" method is not implemented for some reason. I changed ``` this.topic = String.join("/", strTokens);``` to ```this.topic = "/"+strTokens;``` This worked for me.
