We really could also do with proper optional configuration validation, as we now do by default on the command line in `rose macro`.

This issue is now really about the behaviour when a whole suite is loaded. It might be better if a just-loaded-from-preview-app auto-expanded one level.

I think we've had 3 users asking for this now, so I'll bump up the priority

I did! My new team is allergic to Subversion, having had experience of Git. Our main scripts are in internal Git repositories.

I think this is because we deliberately don't check validity or anything else until the whole 'row' has been filled in.
