Rarity die

Wield a Rarity should interpret the action die properly.

When you make a move aided by an augmented asset, roll your rarity die in place of your action die.

On any result with 6 showing on the rarity die, the power of the rarity manifests in a dramatic and obvious way. You score an automatic strong hit and take +1 momentum.

On a hit with 5 showing on the rarity die, the power of the rarity manifests in a subtle way. Take +1 momentum.

On a miss with 1 showing on the rarity die, the rarity’s power fails or works against you.

This would involve:

  • a special kind of item to signify that the user owns a rarity
  • a checkbox on the move roll to signify that you're wielding the rarity, only showing if the user owns one
  • a new interpretation of the roll outcome to do this
  • ideally a different color of action die

so this is an interesting one on dataforged's end. structurally speaking, Wield a Rarity isn't too far gone from an asset ability's IAlterMove - essentially, it applies a "template" on top of another non-progress move. there's at least one other "stock" move that could be structured this way, too: Aid an Ally. (heck, moves like SF's sojourn that "forward" to another move with a specific result could potentially be described this way, too!)

it might not be necessary to fully describe it, which would mean adding another key to Outcomes to describe stuff happening when the action die shows a specific number. however, that's something i've been thinking about anyways - something similar to the "with a match" key, where the idea is it's applied on top of the "parent"; it already has a key for resolving an outcome as another outcome, in fact.
