yeah, it's an optional rule (p 58, Delve)

probably makes sense to gate it behind a toggle in system config; maybe the first-run dialog could prompt the PC to set it? i could see this pattern being followed more broadly with other optional rules. to reduce analysis paralysis for new users, those settings might be bundled as presets like "Ironsworn Core", "Ironsworn: Delve", "Starforged", and so on.

i do have some tagging for optional moves in dataforged at the moment, though it's not very detailed - just a boolean. i could conceivably expand this with some kind of flag that indicates "this move requires [insert optional rule]"
