I got the same error when troubleshooting broken fresh sync issue for geth 1.10.23 You can replace v1.10.21 with v1.10.23 unless it is not syncing at least at the beginning)

@holiman you describe the situation pretty correctly. What is a workaround then?

@fjl we are using a load balancer with a persistent connection with WebSocket. Requests are continuously going to a single node unless a network or another long performance issue breaks...

@fjl I came through logs for the last 7 days and see no correlation between the `Demoting invalidated transaction` error and the `WebSocket disconnect error` from the app.

This result is on a server with 500000 IOPS provisioned
