I like this a lot, but I'm afraid it will quickly become outdated unless we can automate it.

I think treating build as host is very unintuitive. I wouldnt copy that behavior. The conversion tool should be able to correct this.

Can you check the cache directory? it should contain the cached repodata as well as the metadata used to fetch it. Or are you not shutting down the process in...
