As explained in https://github.com/ooni/2023-05-richer-input/commit/7871d3ba57a8824f948167499c0534646db8dda0, the https://github.com/ooni/2023-05-richer-input contains a prototype that explores the richer input domain and redesigns ooniprobe around richer input.
Have you tried to add travis a final command to cat the log generated by bootstrap and see what it contains so we can better understand the issue? Another option...
