I cannot reproduce this. You can try updating to the latest revision from [here](https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/309018), I've disabled CGO in it, maybe this would help with DNS resolution in your case.
ZenKit's issue is now resolved. Can you bump the submodule now please?
