Ok, I think I missed the part with the Plone site ID = 'plone'. Indeed, issue confirmed.

Did you try the select widget? I'm not sure it works out-of-the-box with boolean indexes

Yes. On the other hand we use this feature-o-bug to restrict the default query: For example, you want to create a faceted navigable that displays only Pages, News and Events....
