How will this be implemented? Will we deprecate the smart contract based approach in favor of the "native" solution?

@trianglesphere I'm curious why not deprecate the smart contract approach in favor of the "native" approach? Seems like it would make it easier to track upstream

The former appears to be from the node itself, the latter from a validator that was registered after the block that we're currently synced to

My only concern is that exchanges may seek to influence the approvers to cancel if the price moves out from under them significantly, and that the approvers may be susceptible...
