Since the current sounds come from http://soundbible.com/royalty-free-sounds-1.html, we could crawl the page and show the sounds in the preference dialog, allowing users to **Save** them.
Users should be able to add new sounds. Nowadays this can be achieved by editing manually the sounds/database.json file.
