Hi ! I'm currently on Debian too, and i'm on gnome 43.9. To make the extension works, i downloaded the files from this commit (click on the Browse Files button, and then green button <> Code --> Download ZIP) : https://github.com/armonge/gnome-shell-extension-focusli/commit/822bc7dcad2674a9e04e06b7bbaac3e1133dcccd

Then, I extracted the ZIP file to have the folder with the extension components inside, and I opened the metadata.json file. Now you can rename the folder with the uuid ([email protected] for the moment), and add the versions you want in shell-version (I added 42 and 43) :

Finally, save the metadata.json file and move your [email protected] folder into ~/.locale/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ If you reboot, you'll see the extension working now ! (i hope it was clear enough, sorry for my bad english :) )
