OK, I just figured it out - the mdt-trigger-request actually works fine, the problem was mentioned here - https://github.com/iamisti/mdDataTable/issues/196#issuecomment-261004813 For whatever reason in `function paginatorCallback(page, pageSize, options) { ... }`...
