Only reason I asked is that I was going to take a crack at implementing it and submit a PR but didn't want to duplicate work. Thanks for the info.

how many topics/partitions are you running? We have ~1400 topics with ~7500 partitions and kafka-exporter is using 75MB of ram. See this response: https://github.com/danielqsj/kafka_exporter/issues/305#issuecomment-1162214186

Last 45ish minutes it's hovered around 75MB for us. This is running as a standalone deployment in k8s.  Here is the output of `top` `Mem: 11829684K used, 4201148K free,...
