They pretty much screwed up with the newer kernels and drivers. I'll have to rewrite this indicator, soon.

IMHO, we haven't investigated enough to make such an extreme solution the default. I'll leave this PR open until I can take a better look into this.
You'd need to modify it, unfortunately. I can't dedicate any time to do that. The autostart script is super simple, though. Maybe including an option to check it a command...
