Because I find this to be really valuable, I've made an implementation supporting dictionaries and lists [here](https://github.com/alexd314/gin-config/tree/features/append). I can make a PR if interested.

A workaround for this might be to use a MACRO ``` EMBED_DIM = 30 GAT.embed_dim = %EMBED_DIM Attention.node_ft_dim = %EMBED_DIM ```
