I am aiming for no patches. Patches are fragile and need maintenance. We've removed all patches from the BSD and other distro's builds and I'd like to do the same...

FYI there is a [command line client](https://github.com/alex-courtis/way-displays#command-line-configuration) available for experimenting with changes before persisting them.
