To reproduce just set your PS1 on .bashrc to one with some background colors (and yes I'm using `\e[0m` to reset at the end), and do CTRL+R. Here's an example...

When the graphviz preprocessor is enabled, the list ```md - A - B C ``` is rendered as - A - B C instead of - A - B C
