Currently, OS X is not supported. There's initial work for FreeBSD that will also be useful for OS X (since it also uses `kqueue`), see https://github.com/wingo/fibers/pull/27.
Also, running `./autogen.sh` (i.e. `autoreconf`) works fine in `master` in Catalina, OS X 10.15. You wouldn't get much further per the comment above, but at least this error doesn't show...
This will be fixed when #42 gets merged.

I was interested in running fibers in OS X and was going to stat working on the kqueue port. This work is great! @wingo any chance to get it merged?
@wingo sounds good. thanks! i'm taking a look at other PRs as well. i'm not yet super familiar with everything but planning to dig into it and fix the opened...
I think this should probably be closed in favor of #42.
