Issue no longer reproducible.

Nevermind. It synced for a little bit then spit out the same error. :(

old-sync appears to work for me but the node.db file never gets any bigger than 14kb even though it is writing a lot of data to the log file.

Now it's working. I've fully synced through the standard sync. Maybe it was an Amazon issue.
