This should get fixed as https://github.com/cozuya/secret-hitler/pull/1570 's concepts get propagated throughout all modals. Shouldn't need to be particularly resolved in any other way.
I think any sort of breaking change to this mechanic will need significant community feedback prior to acceptance, as well as extremely clear user feedback for how the selection differs....
Are you sure? afaik they still can't shoot themselves, I could be wrong though
Most things aren't useful or relevant to gameplay but they get created anyways. Most of custom games fulfills that, and so would this.

Yeah, this can also partially leverage `prefers-reduced-motion` as a secondary, albeit it's still very scarcely supported.
No one said this isn't a good idea, hell even Nth said it was good. It's just a matter of someone doing it and maintaining user choice/amount of available games....
There's an existing notification setup used for in-game pings and when games begin.
