The bottom line is always visible yes. That is part of the Pixel 4A UI and it replaces a home button. Since it is always visible, it's really a guess...

I tried disabling the vertex cache, but flickering remains the same on testing with splitscreen (at least for P1). I wouldn't call it significant but does make playing the game...

Correction: the auto-detect option didn't work but selecting 1920x1080 did. Leaving open since may still be a bug re auto detect
I don't mind since it's not a bug that's a problem for me now, but yeah I do actually have 2 monitors and one is 4:3 so maybe that was...
