I'm in the same boat. Fresh Debian install on a Lenovo T61 old laptop, the exact same error.

According to the [poToken guide](https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/wiki/PO-Token-Guide#cases-where-a-po-token-is-required) from yt-dlp, which seems to have few things figured out already, the PO token is NOT required for some clients, like TVs or Android VR....
