I address this in PR #957. The implementation really wasn't that much work along the lines of `XSalsa20Engine`
I am experiencing the same issue, is there any update on that?
I could take over, if you don't mind. I've got some experience with this and also brought support for Ristretto to [LazySodium](https://github.com/terl/lazysodium-java) some time ago.
