I think having a file to reproduce this shared publicly would be great, because otherwise maintainers cannot easily reproduce it / test fixes.

This is for reminders, correct? So I think the best way to implement it would be adding a "Use sender as ical organizer" checkbox below the "Attach iCalendar file" checkbox.
I think this is quickly going out of scope for reminders. They are one-off emails after all.
