Search box in Room Booking under Booking or in search filter section is not user friendly/too fast, i.e. indico starts the search before the name of the room can be typed in
Describe the bug The search function is too fast, i.e., Indico starts the search before the name of the room or the Booking Reason can be typed in. To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
- Go to 'Bookings'
- Start entering the name of your room in the search box. Note: Perimeter uses room names, such as Bob, Alice, Squash Court, etc...
- When searching for the room called 'Atrium", I can enter 1 to 3 letters/characters, e.g., atr before the search is made
- As well as being disconcerting for the user (typing is interrupted), search results are affected as in the above case Atrium and Theatre are retrieved.
Expected behaviour Able to enter more than 3 characters before the search starts.

Additional context Could a typing delay be added?
Thanks, Anne
@ThiefMaster can I take this up? or someone is working on it. Also when I opened the indico sandbox i wasn't able to reproduce this issue. So. should I start the application locally?

You should always do that when contributing to a project, since you need to test your changes.

Thanks, but please don't. This is just a issue someone opened because they believe something could be changed. Personally I'm not even sure that something needs to be done here, since it feels like with a normal typing speed you do not hit the threshold where a search starts while typing.
In any case, if we improve something there, it's not as simple as just changing the delay. We might also want to switch the field to readonly instead of disabling it, or not disabling the fields but making sure only the results from the latest search request are shown (not trivial!)
Okay noted and understood @ThiefMaster . Can you suggest me some issues I can take up as a beginner contributor in this project?
