I am seeing the comments though so this seems to be incorrect.
With the new component (https://github.com/Thenlie/Streamability/blob/main/src/components/CastCrewCarousel.tsx) this might not be as necessary. But still a nice-to-have so leaving open.
I was facing the same crash and patched in https://github.com/expo/expo/pull/35107. This seemed to resolve the crash for me.
