Looking at the code, it does seem ITF is supported. Where exactly are you having issues? Scanning? Manually picking the barcode type? Something else?
Which app did you manage to generate the code with? And if you scan the card with loyalty-card-locker, does it show your 6 digit code as card id or something...
I believe https://github.com/brarcher/loyalty-card-locker/commit/d9f97380d9cf2980a83b30f95c3ab159835ecb93 in #334 should fix this issue.
AnySoftKeyboard is the only Open Source keyboard I know offering swipe typing. It may help to look at how they did it
Would it be safe to just show the most recently updated playlist, or would there be the possibility a playlist would change that the user is not actively interacting with?

You could also use the quick launch tile, that is what I do (awesome app btw)
