Download and install the latest [Node.js](https://nodejs.org/en/).
Install git too.
There is already a console in devtools, but the progress bar is doable. It was actually present in the old launcher, that I had to stop development on to support...
I don't think helios launcher's code is necessary - it only handles the launching part which is quite easy.
You can always install Sol Client to ~~Poly~~ Prism Launcher for the time being (https://github.com/Sol-Client/Installer). I found the code responsible. https://github.com/PrismLauncher/PrismLauncher/blob/4596e78df0bc85cd1cffab01c973f6d4cb490319/launcher/minecraft/MinecraftInstance.cpp#L460
The installer is up to date, it's just labelled as dev since it's currently unfinished. Just run the JAR file like you would with other installers - e.g. for OptiFine.
😳 The crash report is gone now.
What's the contents of your configuration file (%APPDATA%/Sol Client/minecraft/sol_client_mods.json)?
Disable OptiFine. OptiFine will be supported on mac in the future.
This is still a good idea.
