+1 Same here, on laravel 5.2

I found out the solution on this. I upgraded from 5.1 and forgot to make the middlewareGroups.

that's actually what I ended up doing, since I needed to implement a few more filters Thanks

but It would have been nice to have config file to set these flags accordingly
